Meet Our Team: Shawn Bryant

Shawn Bryant
February 18, 1958 – March 10, 2019

Shawn Bryant, President, co-founded Penn Care in 1987 with Donald Bloom.  Shawn, an alumni of Lakeview High School (Cortland, Ohio), continued his studies at Hiram College (Hiram, Ohio) pursuing the Physician’s Assistant Program.  He holds a Paramedic Certification from Brown Memorial Hospital (Conneaut, Ohio).  Additionally, Shawn has a Fire Science Degree from University of Akron (Akron, Ohio).  Shawn has been active in Fire and EMS for 25 years as a provider and educator. Additionally, Shawn has taught disaster preparedness since 1983 and has on-scene management experience during the Ohio Tornados of 1985, the Lucasville Prison Riots in Southern Ohio and the USAir Flight 427 airline accident in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

As President of Penn Care, Shawn oversees the internal operations of the company including the development of the organization’s vision.  Shawn carries out the vision by overseeing the daily operations of the office staff, implementing company policies/procedures, creating short and long term strategies, researching current and upcoming products within the EMS industry, reviewing the financials while ensuring that the company is staying within it’s budget.

While Shawn isn’t in the office he enjoys giving back to the community.  He is currently President of the Warren Sports Hall of Fame & former Chairperson of the Niles Relay for Life.  Emergency medicine runs through the veins of Shawn’s family.  His wife Kelly is a Dispatcher at the Trumbull County 911 Center while his daughter Kristin is an EMT/Trauma Nurse and his son-in-law Justin is a Flight Paramedic.  Shawn also enjoys his furry friends: Spanky, Jiffy & Elsa.
