The Masimo RAD-57 Pulse CO-Oximeter is a handheld device used as a noninvasive tool for continuous monitoring of oxygen saturation, perfusion index, total hemoglobin, PVI and carboxyhemoglobin. It’s designed for use on adult, pediatric and neonatal patients in a variety of situations, both in hospital settings and out in the field. The Rad-57 connects to Masimo Patient SafetyNet. Patient SafetyNet is a remote monitoring and connectivity solution that allows clinicians to monitor their patients’ vital signs and alarms from any location, within or outside the hospital.
The Rad-57 Pulse CO-Oximeter was designed to be used by medical professionals, including emergency medical service (EMS) staff or any emergency response team.

The Rad-57 is a small, handheld pulse oximeter device that can perform a host of patient monitoring tasks in addition to blood oxygen content. Every age group is compatible with the Rad-57, from adults to pediatric patients and neonates. It’s quick and simple to set up and use; it runs on just four AA batteries and doesn’t require user calibration. Patients do not have to be cooperative or even conscious to get readings from the Rad-57, which makes it ideal in the case of an airway emergency. The device is fully compatible with both single-patient and reusable sensors. A low signal IQ (SIQ) indicator can identify conditions of low measurement confidence.
The batteries give the Rad-57 ten hours of continuous usage. Its rugged construction makes it perfect for emergencies in the field, even in extreme conditions with an operating temperature between 0 and 129 degrees Fahrenheit. It can also store up to 72 hours of trending memory. The entire Rad-57 kit includes the device itself, one adult rainbow sensor, one RC-01 cable, and a red carrying case.
Rad-57 Patient Cables
Masimo patient cables are specially designed for extra strength and durability. They have an increased diameter of 5.9 mm as opposed to standard rainbow cables, which typically have a diameter of 4.2 mm. The newly redesigned jacket material is resistant to common cleaning agents and disinfectants — and the cables have an extended 2-year warranty.
