Product Details

The Sager Traction Splint Form III allows for continuous documentation of the amount of traction force applied (Quantified Dynamic Traction). The splint’s tough ischioperineal cushion base combined with the slender, anatomically-shaped cushion allows for perineal examinations and procedures to be performed while the splint is in place.

The Sager Form III is a traction splint for immobilization of a patient’s leg when a broken bone is suspected. This emergency traction splint is designed to make the patient more comfortable (and avoid further injury) when a femur fracture (femoral fracture) is present or suspected, as well as any other major injury to a patient’s lower limb. Unlike other traction splints in the industry, the Sager traction splint shows the care provider exactly how much traction is applied to the leg.

The Sager Form III’s quantifiable dynamic traction means that not only is the amount of traction clearly documented continuously, but it is also dynamic to adjust during leg spasm releases. This emergency traction splint keeps the entire leg in line for proper stabilization and pressure for patient comfort — which cannot be achieved by a thigh strap.

Traction devices stabilize fractured femurs during patient care and transport while preventing further injury to the patient. They provide immobilization for both unilateral fractures and bilateral fractures — and can even be used on pediatric patients.

Other benefits to the Sager Form III include the ability for a one-person application. This allows rescuers to apply the device to the patient easily. There is nothing to assemble because the device comes ready to be used. Its articulation base is comfortable, radiolucent, and conforms to the pelvis.

Proper patient immobilization is especially important in pre-hospital settings. Traction devices like the Sager Form III provide stability to the patient’s injury during transport and are commonly used in conjunction with other backboards and stretchers so that the patient’s body weight is not put on their lower limbs.
