Needles for the SAM IO Driver
SAM IO Needles: A stylet and catheter assembly secured by a snap-fit connection. 15 mm, 25 mm, and 45 mm lengths are intended to address a broad range of patient demographics and multiple application sites. Needle tip geometry has been optimized to penetrate cortical bone efficiently. Intuitive color-coding and depth indication markers adhere to industry standards.
A stylet and catheter assembly secured by a snap-fit connection. 15 mm, 25 mm, and 45 mm lengths are intended to address a broad range of patient demographics and multiple application site. Application sites include proximal humerus, proximal tibia, distal tibia, and distal femur (pediatrics only). All SAM IO Needles come packaged with a kit included a VISE block & extension tube.
Extension Tubing connects the the catheter for flexible infusion.
NeedleVise Block is a single-use sharp containment device for the stylet.
To be used with the SAM IO Intraosseous Access System only. SAM IO Driver available for purchase separately.
Product DetailsThe Sam IO Driver Needles by SAM Medical provides several needle lengths for EMS teams to use for their SAM IO manually operated intraosseous system.
SAM IO Driver Needles Product Features:

• Compatible With SAM IO Driver
Multiple Lengths, Color-Coded
IO users will feel at home with color-coding and depth indicators available for the SAM IO. This includes multiple length options: 15 mm, 25mm and 45mm with appropriate coloring. 15 mm, 25 mm, and 45 mm lengths are intended to address a broad range of patient demographics and multiple application site.
Compatible With SAM IO Driver
SAM IO needles are made to be used with the Driver. SAM IO Intraosseous Access System utilizes a state-of-the-art patented multi-use design in which the device does not rely on battery power for operation.
The SAM IO is comprised of the driver and needle assembly. Needle, stylet and catheter placement is achieved by continuously actuating (repeatedly compressing) the driver’s trigger assembly while gently guiding needle assembly into position. The SAM Stabilizer is included to protect catheter dislodgement.
Repeated, full trigger actuation then creates a rotational spin of the needle assembly which, when combined with gentle downward pressure, results in controlled IO placement.
Once catheter assembly and needle assembly is properly positioned, the stylet is removed to expose standard Luer-lock for extension set connection. The needle then enters through the soft tissue of either the proximal humerus, proximal tibia, distal tbia or distal femur (for pediatric use only).
All SAM IO Needles come packaged with a kit included a VISE block & extension tube.
