PURPLE NITRILE* Exam Gloves offer the highest level of chemotherapy protection available in Halyard Health’s line of nitrile exam gloves. These durable gloves are available in 9.5- and 12-inch lengths, for maximum coverage and protection. PURPLE NITRILE* Exam Gloves are especially appropriate in dealing with unknown risks.

When they see that unique purple color, clinicians know they have protection they can trust, and that gives them the confidence to provide the best care to every patient.

Tested Against 29 Chemotherapy Drugs
PURPLE NITRILE* Exam Gloves are an excellent choice for protection against chemical exposure. They have been tested against 29 chemotherapy drugs per the ASTM D6978-05 “Standard Practice for Assessment of Resistance of Medical Gloves to Permeation by Chemotherapy Drugs,” as well as common chemicals found in the healthcare environment.

Quality Standards
PURPLE NITRILE* Exam Gloves have an AQL of 1.0 for critical defects. This means that PURPLE NITRILE* Exam Gloves are significantly less likely to have critical defects than exam gloves that just meet the ASTM 2.5 AQL requirement.

• Meets or exceeds ASTM D6319 – Standard Specification for Nitrile Examination Glove for Medical Applications
• Meets or exceeds biocompatible 10993 studies for systemic toxicity, irritation and sensitization endpoints

Gloves That Exceed Standards

What makes these gloves so useful? There are numerous features and benefits to using them. These gloves meet or exceed a number of quality standards:
ASTM D6319
ASTM F1671 - 07
ASTM D6978 - 05

The ASTM D6319 is the Standard Specification for Nitrile Examination Gloves for Medical Applications, and the Halyard meets those standards. They also meet the standards for systemic toxicity, sensitization endpoints and irritation set by biocompatible 20993 studies.

The ASTM F1671 - 07 is a test created to measure the resistance of materials used in protective clothing to the penetration of blood-borne pathogens using phi-X174 bacteriophage penetration as the test system. Not only do the Halyard Nitrile Gloves pass those standards, but they also pass viral penetration testing.

If that wasn’t enough, these gloves have also been tested against 29 chemotherapy drugs. This is based on the ASTM D6978 - 05 “Standard Practice for Assessment of Resistance of Medical Gloves to permeation by Chemotherapy Drugs.” This also tests the gloves against other common chemicals found in a healthcare environment.

Latex and Powder-Free

The Halyard Purple Nitrile Gloves are also excellent for those with allergies related to latex rubber. There is no natural rubber latex used at all within the product. Instead, the product is created with acrylonitrile butadiene. This assists in preventing any sort of Type I allergic reactions caused by proteins in rubber.

Each glove also comee free of powder to prevent any potential for powder related complications, like irritant contact dermatitis. They’re also great for use with wounds and open human tissue, where powder could significantly slow down the healing process.
