Penn Care We Care Program: Food Drive 2016

This past week Penn Care officially began our new “We Care Program” which is a give-back program to benefit our community by performing charitable activities with local non-profits. Our employees kicked-off this new “We Care Program” by gathering non-perishable foods which were then donated to the Trumbull County Take Flight non-profit located in Warren, OH. The Trumbull County Take Flight is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which is dedicated to the evolution of Trumbull County, Ohio residents as they believe every person deserves the ability to receive an education.  They carry out their mission by providing free GED services and testing to all Trumbull County Residents regardless of financial status.  Additionally, they serve between 65-80 meals per weekday for lunch and give a brown bag for dinner. These brown bags usually consist of a sandwich, fruit, chips and a candy bar. On Saturdays, 2 brown bags per person are given out. Weekly, Trumbull County Take Flight feeds 400+ hot meals and distributes 450 brown bags on average.
