A multi-use manually operated intraosseous access driver. Engineered for rapid application, SAM IO’s innovative & lightweight design is battery free, and enables easier, faster training and intuitive use. Meets MIL-STD 810G for durability.
SAM IO is a manually operated intraosseous access system. Catheter placement is achieved by continuously actuating (repeatedly compressing) the driver’s trigger assembly while gently guiding needle assembly into position. Repeated, full trigger actuation creates rotational spin of the needle assembly which, when combined with gentle downward pressure, results in controlled IO placement. Once needle assembly is properly positioned, the stylet is removed to expose standard Luer-lock for extension set connection. With the extension set connected, aspiration verification, flushing and selected treatment(s) may commence.
Product DetailsThe Sam IO Driver by SAM Medical provides a manually operated intraosseous access system for EMS clinicians, first responders and more. The Driver has several features that make it an excellent, multi-use device that's made to last.
SAM IO Product Features:
• Durable Material Construction
• Innovative Features For Clinicians
• Easy Catheter Placement With Device
Durable Material Construction
The SAM IO is made out of a polycarbonate construction, increasing the durability of the device. It has been certified under MILSTD 810G for harsh environment use. The SAM IO driver has been tested and cleared for over 10,000 actuations.
Intuitive Features For Clinicians
SAM IO Intraosseous Access System utilizes a state-of-the-art patented multi-use design in which the device does not rely on battery power for operation.
Along with that, current IO users will feel at home with color-coding and depth indicators available for the SAM IO. Included with the SAM IO Driver are adaptors that allow you to utilize the device with any alternative IO needle methods that your needs may require.
Quick, Effective Actuation
The SAM IO is comprised of the driver and needle assembly. Needle, stylet and catheter placement is achieved by continuously actuating (repeatedly compressing) the driver’s trigger assembly while gently guiding needle assembly into position. The SAM Stabilizer is included to protect catheter dislodgement.
Repeated, full trigger actuation then creates a rotational spin of the needle assembly which, when combined with gentle downward pressure, results in controlled IO placement.
Once catheter assembly and needle assembly is properly positioned, the stylet is removed to expose standard Luer-lock for extension set connection. The needle then enters through the soft tissue of either the proximal humerus, proximal tibia, distal tbia or distal femur (for pediatric use only).
