When an emergency arises, knowing how to lift and carry an unconscious victim in the field comes from hands-on training with a rescue manikin. Rescue manikins like the I.A.F.F. Rescue Randy Manikin (the official manikin of the Rescue Randy Combat Challenge) allow first responders to practice a list of emergency tactics and maneuvers. Created by staff from the Firefighter Combat Challenge, Rescue Randy is made of durable vinyl with four 100-pound test plastic-coated cables. Rescue Randy is offered in juvenile to adult weights and heights, according to the human weight distribution chart.Used By

Rescue Randy’s “skeleton” is made up of steel and flexible cable. Over time, gaps between body joints may become noticeable as it’s used, although this won’t impact the manikin’s rescue training purposes.
In place of human volunteers, Rescue Randy can be used during hazardous drills, including extrication training, application of anti-shock trousers, and more. Once he’s “rescued,” Rescue Randy can receive patient care in the field on backboards and stretchers for CPR training and other procedures.

Although not a human, Rescue Randy should still be treated with care. Do not store or use for long periods of time in temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Prolonged exposure to extreme heat will cause body deformation and internal skeletal damage. When used in cold weather, the manikin will become stiff. Ideally, the carry/storage bag is a great option for keeping Rescue Randy in its best condition when not in use.
Rescue Randy should not be punctured or torn apart. Although limbs are articulated, it’s encouraged to refrain from twisting arms and legs in a way that a typical human body cannot tolerate.
The Rescue Randy Manikin warranty includes defects/workmanship for three years from the date of purchase. Accidental and purposeful damage are not covered.
