The women’s auxiliary at Trumbull Memorial Hospital recently presented a check to Chief James Pantalone of the Howland Fire Department for some much needed emergency medical equipment. This donation made it possible for Pantalone and company to purchase four body surface bariatric boards from Penn Care – one for each of their EMS squad ambulances. These specialty devices allow for improved patient comfort and security while being transported.

Along with this generous donation came another substantial gift from The Ladies in Pink at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. Monies were donated to purchase Heart Start Auto External Defibrillators (AEDs) for 3 of Howland’s fire trucks. These were also purchased from Penn Care.
The Ladies in Pink are comprised of a wonderful group of volunteers that each day deliver gifts, snacks, candy, magazines and supplies to patient rooms. The group is an independent 501 organization and has started a scholarship for students going into a medical field. All of their donations and hard work undoubtedly improves the overall health and well-being of the community they serve.
