Accommodate Alternative IO

The SAM IO Needle Adaptor allows clinicians the ability to utilize alternative IO needles with their SAM IO Driver. This includes a myriad of alternatives, including the Arrow EZ-IO.

Compatible With SAM IO Driver

SAM IO needle adaptors are designed exclusively for the SAM IO driver. SAM IO is an intraosseous access system. What separates it from other methods is it's design. The driver utilizes a state-of-the-art patented multi-use design in which the device does not rely on battery power for operation. It's polycarbonate construction allows it to be durable for several thousand uses.

The SAM IO is comprised of the driver and needle assembly. Placement is achieved by continuously actuating (repeatedly compressing) the driver’s trigger assembly while gently guiding needle assembly into position. The SAM Stabilizer is included to protect catheter dislodgement. Repeated, full trigger actuation then creates a rotational spin of the needle assembly which, when combined with gentle downward pressure, results in controlled IO placement.

Once catheter assembly and needle assembly is properly positioned, the stylet is removed to expose standard Luer-lock for extension set connection. The needle then enters through the soft tissue of either the proximal humerus, proximal tibia, distal tbia or distal femur (for pediatric use only).
