Product Details

The Dynarex Instant Hot Pack 5” x 9” is the premiere choice for on-the-go warmth and heat therapy and provides instant, soothing warmth. Its flexible material conforms to body contours making it the best choice for use on any part of the body and can be used for any kind of injury, including neck pain, arthritis, back injuries, and shoulder injuries. Hot packs can also be used to treat muscle strains, aches, tension, cramps and a variety of orthopedic injuries.

The instant hot pack is intended for single use only, as it will not reheat once initiated. For easy activation of packs, simply squeeze the outer edges toward the center from the arrows on the pack. The pack will begin to warm within seconds, eventually reaching a temperature of up to 122℉ or 50℃. Dynarex Instant Hot Packs can be purchased individually or in a case (qty of 24). With a size of 5” x 9”, these heat packs are big enough to cover the majority of joints and afflicted areas but smaller than your average heating pad to focus on specific trouble spots.

Using the Dynarex Instant Hot Pack

To use the Dynarex Instant Hot Pack, simply activate the heat pack with a single squeeze and apply it to the injured area.

Heat therapy is beneficial to aiding injury relief by improving circulation and blood flow to a particular area because of the increased temperature. Applying heat to affected areas can relax and soothe muscles and even begin to heal damaged tissue. Using heat therapy to increase the temperature of an injured muscle can help injury and pain relief by relieving discomfort and aiding in muscle flexibility.

Benefits of Heat Therapy

As opposed to cold therapy, which utilizes ice packs or cold packs, heat therapy is more beneficial when you apply the warmth for a longer period of time. Cold therapy is used in moderation. While Instant Hot Packs are single use only, they’re able to be used for the entire duration that the pack stays warm and will not need to be removed, unless pain relief is achieved. In only 15 to 20 minutes, the patient will begin to feel pain relief for minor stiffness or tension. More severe pain will need longer sessions of heat therapy, which could be more than half an hour. If at any point swelling increases at the afflicted area or the temperature becomes too hot for the patient, remove the heat pack.

Cold therapy is more often used for bruises, swelling, and open wounds. Do not apply cold therapy for more than 15 minutes at a time. For cold therapy needs, checkout Instant Cold Packs from Penn Care.

When unexpected injuries occur, a hot pack will aid in pain relief and recovery. It is beneficial to always have hot packs in your medical supplies so EMS workers, first responders, or any healthcare professional has the benefit of heat therapy at their fingertips. Your first aid kits are incomplete without a package of Dynarex Instant Hot Packs.
