David Pendergrass joined the Penn Care team in February of 2021 as our Product Specialist, Resuscitation. David’s position is focused around sales and training on the Philips Tempus ALS monitor in the state of Virginia. David has 30 years of experience as a career fire captain and paramedic with a busy, urban department in Virginia. He started out as firefighter medic serving as a volunteer while still a teenager then he transitioned to a career firefighter after he completed his college degree. He attended Virginia Wesleyan College. Prior to the Commonwealth of Virginia recognizing Paramedics, he graduated from the Cardiac Technician program at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He additionally has completed the EMS Technology-Paramedic Program at Tidewater Community College.
Prior to joining Penn Care’s Team, he had dedicated 15 years as a distributor of Philips HeartStart AEDs and monitors, as well as being an American Heart Association Instructor in BLS, ACLS, and PALS. He was a Clinical Educator for Philips Healthcare from January 2007 until February 2018. He primarily trained end-users on the HeartStart MRx and Philips AEDs. That position lead him to do larger implementation programs and training which included FDNY, Charlotte NC Medic One, Fairfax County Fire and EMS, VA, St. Louis Fire Department, Tucson Fire Rescue, AZ and many others.
David’s career expertise and product knowledge is an asset to the Penn Care team. He has a passion for resuscitation and resuscitation science. David’s favorite part of his job so far is meeting new people and seeing the surprise on their faces as they discover the revolutionary features only found in the Tempus ALS monitor system.
