BRAUN INDUSTRIES INTRODUCES THE NEW PATRIOT
Leading ambulance manufacturer Braun Industries, Inc. has developed the Patriot, a versatile fire/rescue/transport apparatus in one unit.
The new unit features an ambulance body that is fully transport capable, has rescue compartments for equipment and can carry up to 200 gallons of water. The unit is also designed to have a Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS) to hold and dispense up to 15 gallons of foam as well as two 1-inch booster reels on each side of the module.
"In response to the growing demands placed on fire departments across the country, the new Patriot is designed to respond to more than 95% of all emergency calls, whether EMS-related, light rescue or a light suppression call," said Phil Braun, president and CEO of Braun Industries, Inc. "The unit is also ideal for volunteer fire departments without the manpower to staff several vehicles. With the current state of the economy, many departments facing budget cuts are only able to purchase one vehicle. Braun is committed to serving the industry's needs by building a high-quality multipurpose unit that lets them respond quickly to their community."
Braun has mounted a customized Super Chief module - a Type 1 medium-duty ambulance - on a Spartan Furion chassis to deliver maximum interior space and available payload with the Patriot. The Super Chief has 73 inches of interior headroom and enough space for up to six crew members plus equipment, while the chassis boasts 21,000 lbs. to 31,000 lbs. rear Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR).
Featuring the high-quality manufacturing and product innovations that Braun has become known for, the Patriot features the company's SolidBody(tm) construction, which adds strength to the vehicle by constructing the floor, roof, side and doors from brake-formed parts with full contact welded seams.
Additional options to ease in patient care include angled fluorescent lighting, Braun's EZ Glide(tm) Door that allows rescue personnel to safely slide the ambulance door against the module rather than out into traffic, and the MasterTech III(tm) touch button system that controls the module's electronic functions and provides real time on-board diagnostics.
